Workmen were left in stitches after they spotted a labourer getting into a building site by lying down in the back of a truck.

The cab only had space for three passengers. In a bid to get around this, the fourth passenger wedged himself amongst the tools in the back of the van.

He can be seen lying flat on his back in a horizontal position.

Labourer, Daniel Kennedy, is wearing his work gear including shorts and work boots.

A hilarious shot of the van was taken on a Birmingham city centre street.

Building company boss David Kennedy said he admired their creativity and was pleased they were putting in the time at work.

He said: ‘Four lads on site, only three seats in their truck.

‘Didn’t really clock how they were getting to the site until I went in early to make sure they were doing the hours.

‘Have to say… I’m not mad.’

The workmen could not stop laughing at the incident. 

Others had hilarious reactions when the picture was posted on Facebook. Raj Sharma said: ‘He is a sleeping partner in the business.’

While Jones Mick joked: ‘Good security, stop tools getting nicked.’

‘Back in the 80s, 11 of us in a Transit van,’ said Craig Atkinson.

‘Must be flatbed Ed,’ said Brad Guest.

James Coleman added a comment which said: ‘Spent my most of my apprenticeship years in the back of a van. It gave me an incentive to pass my driving test.’

‘At least he still turns up to work,’ said Moses Pegg.
