Joe Biden calls son Hunter 'the smartest guy I know' amid ‘crack and sex’ laptop scandal during softball Q&A with Oprah

JOE Biden described his son Hunter as the “smartest guy I know” in a Q&A with Oprah Winfrey last night.

The talk show host did not challenge Biden on a video of Hunter reportedly "smoking crack in a sex act" – which was revealed along with emails that allegedly showed he did introduce his dad to a Ukraine gas executive when Joe was vice president.

The virtual Zoom event was targeted at voters in key battlegrounds states including Pennsylvania, Michigan, Minnesota and Ohio.

Biden spoke to Mildred Madison, a Michigan resident who drove over 600 miles to vote after her absentee ballot never arrived.

The former vice president told Mildred that he spoke with his late son Beau, as well as Hunter, his wife Jill and mom Catherine about becoming Barack Obama's running mate in 2008.

Biden described Hunter as "the smartest guy I know".

The Democratic nominee did not elaborate on his point about Hunter.

Biden's youngest son has spent months under intense scrutiny over his business dealings in foreign countries and was plunged into a scandal when photos and emails from his laptop were leaked to the New York Post.

The video and emails were revealed amid scrutiny over Hunter’s job at oil and gas giant Burisma, regarding his father's relationship with Ukraine and subsequent Trump impeachment investigations.

Explosive emails appear to show that VP Biden met with Burisma executive Vadym Pozharskyi while on a trip to the US, reports the New York Post.

A spokesperson for Joe Biden denied any such meeting in a statement.

The emails came from a trove of files found on a damaged MacBook Pro which had been dropped off at a repair shop in Biden's home state of Delaware.

Among the files is reportedly a 12-minute video of Hunter engaging in a sex act with an unidentified woman, according to The Post.

He's is apparently seen smoking crack in the video.

The 50-year-old has been open about his struggles with addiction.

The laptop was also said to contain other files, including sexually explicit pictures.

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee is now investigating the trove of documents, The Post reported.

The Senate is working with the repairman to verify the documents, according to reports.

On Tuesday night, a former associate of Hunter Biden played a bombshell clip which revealed a family fixer begging him not to go public with his claims against Joe Biden.

Tony Bobulinski appeared on Tucker Carlson's Fox News show during which he played a recording of a call with Rob Walker, who pleaded with him not to speak out against the Democratic presidential nominee.

As Bobulinski threatens to speak out about the presidential nominee's knowledge of his son's business dealings in China, Walker who works for Joe Biden's wife Jill, can be heard telling him: "You'll bury us all man."

Bobulinski is the former head of the now-folded firm SinoHawk Holdings, which, he said was a partnership between two Biden family members and Chinese energy firm CEFC China Energy.

Joe has repeatedly denied such involvement in the business.

Trump has honed in on the Biden's relationship with Ukraine throughout the election campaign.

Critics of Biden have often tried to attack and question the former VP's relationship with Ukraine.

Hunter joined the board of the Ukrainian gas company Burisma in 2014, around the time Biden was helping conduct the Obama administration's foreign policy with Ukraine.

Trump and his supporters have alleged that Biden pushed for the firing of Ukraine's top prosecutor to protect his son and Burisma from any investigation.

Unproven accusations have also been made claiming that Hunter consulted with his father on China-related business dealings.
