After the cliffhanger ending of season two, the patient Netflix streamers were treated with the return of the romantic drama series. Fans were relieved to see that Jack Sheridan (played by Martin Henderson) had survived his gun wound. However, things could soon get even more complicated for him after a teaser revealed that his ex-wife could soon visit the small town of Virgin River.
After the dramatic season finale, it would be safe to say that fans across the world breathed a huge sigh of relief at the sight of Jack in the hospital.
The last time he was on screens, his girlfriend and local nurse Melinda ‘Mel’ Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) found him on the floor of his bar bleeding to death after a suspected gunshot wound.
Despite the relief of him finally being in hospital the opening scenes were tense as Jack was rushed to intensive care, where doctors had to perform CPR using a defibrillator.
However, by the end of the episode, he is completely fine and recovering at home with Mel’s help.
Last season the couple’s relationship had a huge question mark over it as Jack learned his ex-girlfriend Charmaine Roberts (Lauren Hammersley) was pregnant with his twins.
Many fans were sceptical about the pregnancy and theorised that Jack wasn’t the father, saying that Charmaine had lied because she was jealous of his relationship with Mel.
Now with the newborns, season three also introduced her new partner Todd (Patrick Sabongui) and the pair were engaged after being an item for a month.
With being the father of his ex’s twins, rebuilding his relationship with Mel and trying to find out who wanted him dead, things could get even more complicated for Jack.
In a recent interview with TVLine showrunner Sue Tenney opened up and shared the possibilities of Jack’s future.
When talking about his relationship’s she mentioned Jack’s ex-wife Mandy and said: “Mandy showing up in Virgin River would complicate things even more,” and Henderson added, “It’s possible with this show.”
Jack’s ex-wife Mandy was never mentioned on the show, in season three Mel had accidentally discovered he had been previously been married.
The discovery left her confused and questioning why he had never brought it up in marriage before.
In the interview, it was also revealed that the star of the show Martin never knew he was married either until he read the script.
He shared that Jack and Mandy were High School sweethearts and had got married after graduating.
However, things went downhill when he joined the marines. Fans had knowledge of Jack’s history in the forces because this is how he met his friend and employee Preacher (John Middleton).
However, as for Jack and Mandy, it turned out that she filed for divorce while he was deployed in Iraq and the entire marriage lasted less than three months.
With this new revelation and the possibility of Mandy paying Jack a visit what could she possibly want?
Viewers know that the ex-marine has a ton on his plate and the return of an ex-wife would without a doubt complicate things for him, especially with Mel.
Also, Jack is well known in the small town and owns the only bar, so news about Mandy appearance would definitely spread fast.
Fans will have to stay tuned to see if she will definitely make an appearance and what news she could bring with her.
