Towie reunion: Cast break down in tears as they watch Nanny Pat's heartbreaking final scenes before her death

THE Towie cast broke down in tears tonight watching Nanny Pat's heartbreaking final scenes on the ITVBe show.

Her granddaughter Jess Wright sobbed as clips of The Only Way Is Essex legend before she died appeared during the 10 year anniversary reunion – with fans also crying as they watched from home.

Jess appeared in the clip singing Adele's song Make You Feel My Love at Nanny Pat's birthday 80th birthday, with guests at the bash seen crying in the clip even back then.

Her birthday party took place three weeks before she past.

Cementing herself as Towie royalty, Pat dressed up like the Queen at the regal themed bash – with all of Towie's favourites attending the event.

In a heartwrenching speech to the partygoers, Carol once again gushed about her lovely mum, and said: "This little old lady puts everyone first and never asks for anything in return – apart from a packet of candy!"

One viewer summed up sentiments on Twitter as the scenes aired again tonight, admitting they were an "absolute emotional wreck".

Nanny Pat, formerly known as Pat Brooker, became a firm favourite on Towie during her five-year run on the show thanks to her one-liners and sausage plaits.

She died following a short illness in 2015 but was fondly remembered tonight by audiences of the ITVBe show.

The straight-talking but loveable pensioner and mother-of-five was survived by 14 grandchildren and six grandkids.

She settled down with her husband Charles Brooker, but it was only after his death that her grandson Mark Wright joined the show and she started making hilarious appearances on Towie, cementing herself as one of the UK’s most unlikely celebrities.

Tweets poured in tonight from Towie fans as they remembered Nanny Pat.
