Spoilers: Shock EastEnders violence as Stuart and Max fight over Rainie

Stuart Highway (Ricky Champ) was on cloud nine in EastEnders when love of his life Rainie Branning (Tanya Franks) agreed to be his wife, but Callum ‘Halfway’ Highway (Tony Clay) threw something of a spanner in the works when he reminded them Rainie was still married to Max (Jake Wood), so Stuart takes matters into his own hands in the next episode — resulting in a heated confrontation.

Earlier this evening, viewers saw Stuart go out of his way to demonstrate his love for Rainie, and therefore he orchestrated the most elaborate — and quite frankly the greatest — proposal ever seen, as he got down on one knee in the funeral parlour, dressed up like none other than Dracula himself.

‘How romantic?’, you’re probably thinking. Well, Rainie certainly wasn’t, but a later heart-to-heart revealed just how much Stuart thought of her, and therefore she agreed to be his wife in emotional scenes.

Callum was over the moon for his sibling, but he seemingly killed the celebrations when he reminded Rainie that she was still married to Max.

The solution to such a predicament is simply for Rainie to go all Den Watts (Leslie Grantham) — or Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) — and get divorce proceedings under way, but it appears if things aren’t going to be quite as simple as that.

Yes, in the next episode, Max seemingly finds out about Rainie’s engagement, but he refuses to divorce her — something that Stuart’s not too pleased about, and thus he threatens him.

As a result, Max is forced to reveal the real reason behind his actions.

What is it that Max reveals?

Will Stuart be understanding? Or will he simply demand that Max — regardless of his reasons — signs on the dotted line?
