Spoilers: Leo's mum returns in EastEnders and confronts Whitney

Michaela Turnbull (Fiona Allen) was last seen in EastEnders hightailing it out of dodge when her sadistic son Leo King (Tom Wells) viciously attacked her with a brief case before locking her in the boot of a car, but she makes a shock return in the coming episodes — and comes face-to-face with Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty).

Michaela never came face-to-face with Whitney during her last visit to Albert Square, but she made clear that she didn’t want her son to be anywhere near the young woman. Of course, Leo ignored her wishes — a decision which would prove instrumental in his demise.

With Whitney out on bail, Gray (Toby-Alexander Smith) takes it upon himself to reassure her ahead of her appearance in court.

However, matters are complicated further when Michaela arrives back in Walford — determined to track down Whitney.

She does just that, and as she speaks to the young woman, her true colours come to light, as she proceeds to blame Whitney for everything that’s transpired — leaving Gray to defuse the heated situation.

Afterwards, Gray and Chantelle (Jessica Plummer) attempt to calm Whitney down, but — later — Michaela arrives at the Vic, resulting in Gray ushering her out with a warning.

Gray berates Whitney, and — later — Whitney later reveals to Sonia (Natalie Cassidy) that she believes prison is now a certainty for her.

One to watch: Monday 13 April at 8pm on BBC One.
