Spoilers: Hollyoaks star teases what's to come for Mitchell and Felix

Mitchell Deveraux (Imran Adams) has been through a lot over the course of the last twelve months in Hollyoaks, but — in spite of the obstacles thrown his way — he’s currently on cloud nine, following his engagement to love of his life Scott Drinkwell (Ross Adams) — something which took place earlier this week.

Speaking about all that his character has been through, actor Imran Adams told Metro.co.uk: ‘It’s been a whirlwind. This is the first time my feet have touched the ground, it’s happened so fast.’

‘The Deveraux family expanding, Mitchell and Scott’s relationship developing and evolving — it’s been a lot, and I’ve enjoyed it a lot. I think Mitchell has had a lot to deal with, but fingers crossed he can finally have his happy-ever-after — we’ll see!’

A happy-ever-after is certainly something viewers would like to see for Mitchell given what the character has been through, but there’s no doubt going to be more conflict ahead in regards to the new dynamics of the Deveraux clan, which — as Imran mentioned — has expanded quite significantly.

Toby (Bobby Gordon) and Celeste’s (Andrea Ali) arrival in the village is what kicked the whole thing off, as they set out to destroy Martine (Kelle Bryan) for abandoning them as a child, but Mitchell didn’t really figure into their equation, but — now that they know the truth about Felix (Richard Blackwood) — what does the future hold for the siblings?

Imran said: ‘Mitchell — bless him — loves his family and he wants a relationship with them because he always thought he never had siblings, and the fact that he has two now is amazing.’

‘But he doesn’t really understand them because he’s had a very traditional life and they’ve had an experimental life, so that’s a different world — I’m hoping they can come together and find a real dynamic. A real family.’

Felix’s arrival has resulted in more conflict ensuring, and some home truths coming to light as a result, but will Mitchell and Felix ever be able to build a relationship?

Speaking about this relationship, Imran told us: ‘There’s so much you can explore with the whole daddy and son relationship. For anyone, especially within the black community. A lot of people messaged me and said that they feel as if they have a connection to the storyline.’

‘Hopefully they can forgive and move on, but we shall see!’

Felix’s arrival of course brought with it the iconic Richard Blackwood, and Imran can’t speak highly enough of him.

He said: ‘Richard Blackwood is obviously a black British icon, and my family — the company I get to work with every day — I’ve got Kelle from Eternal as well, so I love it! I’ve learned so much from him, and I think we have a good chemistry on screen!’
