The long-running CBS drama was met with backlash after revealing the series wouldn’t continue until the new year. Many fans were upset with the news as NCIS: Los Angeles had just returned from an unexpected scheduling shake-up.
Fans of the NCIS spin-off series took to Twitter to share their frustration at the series for announcing episode seven would air in 2022.
KamenzieStarr tweeted: “No more new episodes of LA for the rest of the year? Uncool, CBS. Uncool.”
SaveMcgyver21 shared their disappointment and wrote: “What nooooooo that was the last one now we gotta wait till Jan 2nd oh my god.”
While MollyK1996 announced: “No new episode until January 2 holiday break.”
This break upset fans as episode six titled ‘Sundown,’ was originally supposed to be aired November 14 but was pushed back for Adele’s CBS special.
As one fan wrote: “No new episode of @NCISLA today because of some interview with Adele, if I wanted to see A dell I’d take a trip to @BestBuy.”
Despite the outrage from last week, it was a huge won for the network as it drew in approximately 10 million viewers.
As episode six had finally aired after the unexpected scheduling shake-up, the news of episode seven airing in 2022 annoyed some.
However other fans felt content with the episode and were looking forward to watching more in the new year.
Aves_noelle praised the show and wrote: “great episode! Loved watching as always 🙂 see y’all in… well, awhile!”
CauseRSisEpic shared the same sentiment and tweeted: “That was a great episode. Happy holidays! Till next year.”
While fans may have to wait six weeks until the next episode of NCIS LA, the recent episode ended with some sneak peeks about what’s ahead.
‘Sundown’ was a big episode for Sam Hanna (LL Cool J) and Devin Rountree (Caleb Castille) as they dove straight into a major hostage crisis.
A distraught father DeMayo decided to seize a bus full of hostages and threaten to blow them up as revenge unless they cleared his daughter’s name which was attached to war crimes.
While Sam attempted to come to an understanding with DeMayo, Devin went undercover to understand the situation.
Viewers learned his dead Marine daughter took her own life after false accusations, which NCIS wanted to investigate deeper.
Unfortunately, DeMayo shot a cop on board the bus which sealed his fate as LAPD swarmed the bus to arrest him.
Elsewhere, Marty Deeks (Eric Christen Olsen) and Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah) made more serious attempts to adopt.
Fans watched as they went on a stakeout to spy on other potential adoptive parents on their way to meetings as a way to eye up the competition.
NCIS Los Angeles returns to CBS on December 2nd.
