Katie Price lands new job on Channel 4’s Steph’s Packed Lunch as roving reporter

Katie Price has landed herself a role as a reporter for Steph's Packed Lunch.

The 42-year-old former glamour model will reportedly be involved in four short films looking at different subjects close to her heart.

According to The Sun, she'll begin filming for the Channel 4 show as early as tomorrow.

The first film Katie will be involved in is on the issue of online trolling, something her son Harvey, 18, has faced for several years.

A rep for Katie told the publication: "Katie looks forward to reporting on current affairs that are close to her heart.

"She is delighted to be joining Steph and the team on the show."

Daily Star reported last month that former Loose Women star Katie was in the final stages of talks to join the Packed Lunch team as a regular roving reporter.

A source said: "Katie went down a storm with bosses during her appearance on the show last month and producers are looking to make her a regular on the show.

"Meetings are ongoing but after the success of her BBC documentary Harvey and Me, she's keen to show there's more to her than her glamour model past.

"She will be covering a string of serious issues that are close to her heart – almost in a roving reporter style position."

Daily Star understands that the current plan is for Katie to contribute to the show on an every-other-week basis.

Katie appeared on Packed Lunch to promote her BBC documentary Harvey and Me back in January.

The reality star and mum-of-five was joined her boyfriend Carl Woods in the television studio.

Katie spoke frankly about the heartbreaking fear she has that her disabled Harvey won't be able to cope without her.

Admitting she sometimes hopes he passes away before her, Katie said: "I know that's harsh to say but I know a lot of people in my situation would feel the same.

"Obviously I don't want him to go but he so relies on me in every way and our communication.

"If I'd gone he wouldn't understand where I'd gone."

Television presenter Steph McGovern left BBC Breakfast in October 2019 to join Channel 4.

She had been expected to host Steph's Talks from spring 2020 at Channel 4's then-new base in Leeds.

However, the coronavirus pandemic meant that she began presenting The Steph Show from her front room in March 2020.

The show eventually launched in September 2020 as Steph's Packed Lunch.

Steph's Packed Lunch airs weekdays on Channel 4 from 12.30pm
