Angelica King (Rebecca Bakes) – Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) and Jimmy’s (Nick Miles) daughter – ended up in hospital in Thursday’s (May 25) edition of Emmerdale after Nicola collided with Moira Barton’s (Natalie J Robb) car.
Nicola was stressed at the start of the episode, busy trying to get her children off to school and sort a meeting on the council later that day.
She reminded Jimmy about Angel’s appointment at the dentist but, too busy focused on the trouble Tom (James Chase) is causing him, he ended up forgetting all about it.
It was left to Nicola to rush Angel to the dentist, aware she had just about enough time before her meeting.
Chatting away about how she feels like she’s the only grown up in her home, Nicola failed to really acknowledge the approaching junction and, within seconds, Moira had smashed into the side of her car.
Helped by Tom, Moira and Nicola managed help an unconscious Angel, who had sustained a leg injury.
As Angel was rushed into A&E, Nicola sat in the waiting room, feeling terrible that the last conversation she had with her daughter was telling her off.
Meanwhile, after taking a breathalyser test, all Moira could do was try and convince herself that everything will eventually be fine, as she believed she didn’t do anything wrong.
In the hospital, Nicola and Jimmy were told that Angel has damage to the arteries in her leg and needs an operation to reposition the bone and check for any further damage.
Wheeled off into theatre, what will the outcome of Angel’s surgery be?
And in the aftermath, how will Nicola behave towards Moira?
