EastEnders spoilers: Phil Mitchell ‘refused’ ownership of Queen Vic in bizarre twist

EastEnders viewers were shocked earlier this month when Mick (played by Danny Dyer) and Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) decided they would leave their life in the Queen Vic to help Linda’s recovery from alcohol addiction. But, in upcoming scenes Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) could start interfering with Linda’s journey to recovery forcing Mick to issue him with a stark warning.

Over the last year, Linda’s drinking has been getting worse and worse, with no one really knowing how to help the pub landlady.

But, in the last couple of weeks, things have been looking up as Linda has finally given in and joined an Alcoholics Anonymous group.

Things came to a head at the Albert Square boat party in which Sharon Mitchell’s (Letitia Dean) son Denny Rickman (Bleu Landau) was tragically killed.

Before then, Linda had been looking for more alcohol and when the boat crashed she got trapped in the sinking boat.

She was saved by Mick but after the ordeal, she promised to get the help she needed if Mick would help her.

Linda has had a couple of slip-ups but when she found Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) had been marking the alcohol bottles to keep an eye on her, she decided it was time to leave.

In an emotional chat with Mick, Linda revealed she had lived in pubs all of her life but cannot remember a time when she didn’t have a drink in her hand.

The two decided it was time to sell up the Queen Vic and start again, but this has left everyone asking who will take it over.

Sharon has obviously been grieving the tragic death of her son, but in tribute to him, Phil has been thinking of buying the pub.

After all, he’s spent a lot of his life there with his mum Peggy Mitchell (Barbara Windsor) heading it up for years.

But, in upcoming scenes, Phil is going to put Linda’s recovery into jeopardy when he turns up at her AA meeting.

Viewers will know Phil has also struggled with alcohol in the past and is at risk of dying if he ever touches a bottle again, but it took Linda weeks just to take the step of walking in the door.

In upcoming scenes, Linda will be horrified when she sees Phil in her AA meeting and rush home to tell Mick she can’t go back there.

Mick has been proud of Linda’s willingness to get better over the last couple of weeks but will be furious when he hears she wouldn’t be going to any more meetings.

The landlord has been so patient with Linda and her problem, but with their lives threatened with turmoil if she relapses, could Mick threaten Phil to keep him away.

And, with the Queen Vic in both their interests, could Mick refuse to move if Phil is going to ruin his family’s chance for happiness?
