The toddler’s grandmother Ellie Nixon handed Raymond over to Denise last month before making a swift exit after Phil drove her out of Walford.
Ellie had demanded £250k from Phil in exchange for Raymond but, with the help of Callum Highway, Phil told her that drugs had been planted in one of her four properties and that, if she didn’t scarper, he’d ring the police.
But next week’s episodes of EastEnders will see Denise tell Jack that she’s struggling to bond with Raymond.
Sensing Denise’s stress, Jack later offers to help pay for a specialist for Raymond.
He then advises Denise to find someone from Raymond’s past to talk to, prompting her to remember that his adoptive father was a pastor at a Pentecostal church.
Later in the week, Jack, Denise and Raymond head to the youngster’s family church and Denise is delighted to see Raymond happy for once.
After the service ends, Denise speaks to the pastor and asks him if it’d be okay to ask some questions about Raymond’s family.
What will he have to say and will it help Denise bond with the toddler?
Phil made clear that he would be going to great lengths to double-cross Denise and get his son back from her after driving Ellie out of Walford.
Might Phil decide to fight Denise for custody of Raymond?
