EastEnders’ Max Bowden and Tony Clay say they ‘forgot camera crew were there’ during three-hour Ballum snogging scene – The Sun

EASTENDERS actors Max Bowden and Tony Clay spent three hours snogging as they filmed a Ballum scene – and almost forgot the cameras were there.

In the first look at Secrets From The Square, the stars told Stacey Dooley what it was like getting passionate during one of the soap's most memorable moments.

"He's got very thick facial hair," said Max.

"We were at it for hours in the freezing cold. We were kissing for three hours."

Tony said: "After a while you're thinking, will this ever end?" before Ben added: "In your head you'd got rid of everyone else and it was just us."

Sharing the video of Max and Tony reminiscing on Twitter, an EastEnders read: It started with a kiss! And one us #Ballum fans will never forget.

Watching clips of themselves back, Tony added: "What makes it lovely is that it's two boys from broken homes who are just every days lads and they found each other. It's beautiful."

Walford legends are taking fans behind the scenes in BBC One’s new show, Secrets Of The Square.

It will see host Stacey Dooley sit down each week in Ian Beale’s restaurant, Walford East, with two different members of the cast to reflect on their time on the show.

After EastEnders ran out of episodes due to the break in production, the new show, Secrets From The Square, will give fans their much-needed fix of Walford’s finest.

Starting on Monday, June 22, fans will get a unique chance to look behind the curtains of EastEnders and gain insight from the cast on what it’s like to play their iconic characters.

Strictly winner Stacey will be speaking to legends of Albert Square including Letitia Dean, Adam Woodyatt, Diane Parish, Tameka Empson, Danny Dyer and Kellie Bright, to name just a few.

Over a cuppa and biscuits they will be looking back to their first memories of the show, the juiciest dramas to hit Walford and tell secret stories from behind-the-scenes.

Secrets From The Square will begin on Monday 22nd June at 8pm and continue weekly on BBC One.

EastEnders is set to return to filming at the end of June 2020.
