Eamonn Holmes shot back at India Willoughby after she made a dig at overpaid television presenters on Friday's instalment of This Morning.
The 60-year-old televison star shut down India after she claimed she was "offended" by how much some hosts get paid.
They were discussing how BBC Radio 1 will not be playing the original version of The Pogues track Fairytale of New York before talk turned to being "offended" by things.
India took a swipe at overpaid television presenters as she said she was "offended" by how much some television presenters are paid.
She slammed BBC journalist Huw Edwards for being paid thousands for "reading an autocue".
Eamonn shut down India, and said Huw was "worth it" and is a "national treasure" who does more than just read an autocue.
Viewers picked up on the awkward moment, as one tweeted: "Did India hit a nerve there with the high pay for reading an autocue, their faces!"
While another wrote: "India complaining about the BBC when most of the presenters of This Morning have worked on the BBC…"
"You weren't asked for a critique of the BBC, India – you were asked about The Fairytale of New York and them censoring the lyrics", penned a third.
