Dickinson: Hailee Steinfeld stars in trailer for second season
Apple TV+ is premiering season two of its wildly popular comedy Dickinson with the first three episodes dropping on the streaming service in one go from today. Episodes will be made available on a weekly basis thereafter for fans to catch. However, some viewers are curious to know more about the future of the comedy series.
Will there another series of Dickinson?
The good news, there will be plenty more Dickinson in the future after Apple TV+ gave the show an early renewal in 2020.
Season three was confirmed as Apple TV+ dropped a first look at the second outing in October last year.
Dickinson is said to be one of the top-performing shows for the relatively new streamer as it tries to break ground in the fiercely competitive market.
The recommission came not long after Dickinson’s creator and executive producer Alena Smith struck a deal with Apple TV+ a few months earlier, according to Deadline.

When will Dickinson season 3 be released?
Season three could be released as soon as the end of 2021 or early 2022, judging by previous premiere dates.
The first outing hit screens in November 1, 2019 and season two launches from today January 8, 2021.
However, all of this will be dependent on the state of the coronavirus pandemic and whether filming will be affected by the Covid-19 infection rate.
The show will be dropping in weekly instalments unlike Netflix or Amazon Prime Video, which are known to release entire shows in one go for global audiences to binge.
Who will be in the cast of Dickinson season 3?
Barring any major deaths in the second outing, most of the main cast are expected to return with Oscar nominee Hailee Steinfeld again leading as lovelorn and angsty teen poet Emily Dickinson.
Joining her will be British actress Ella Hunt again portraying Emily’s best friend and sister-in-law Sue Gilbert, who Emily is very much in love with her.
Ally McBeal star Jane Krakowski is likely to be back as mother Emily Norcross Dickinson and actor Toby Huss as father Edward Dickinson.
Other members of the Dickinson family making a return will be Adrian Enscoe as Austin Dickinson and Anna Baryshnikov as Lavinia “Vinnie” Dickinson.
There are also likely to be supporting cast members coming back such as Wiz Khalifa as Death and Chinaza Uche as Henry, among others.
What will happen in Dickinson season 3?
Again, this is dependent on how season two concludes but presumably fans can expect more of the same: a contemporary and teenage twist on the life of Emily Dickinson.
The show is likely to continue to explore Emily’s burgeoning sexuality and relationship with Sue as well as the pressure women faced during this era.
There are also going to be some comedic moments are Emily deals with everyday life and her more strait-laced family, finding solace in her friends.
Emily’s lifelong obsession with death will be recurring theme in the show – much as it was in her work.
Season two sees Emily struggling to deal with fame and what it means and again this could be explored further in future outings.
Showrunner Smith spoke to Rotten Tomatoes about Emily’s preoccupation with the dangers of notoriety, saying: “She very explicitly wrote in letters and poems, these really conflicted feelings about fame.”
While Steinfeld explained about exploring this facet of her character: “I would say it’s not something I learned very quickly that I’ve thought of, really at all.
“I love the work that I do. And I love that I’m able to do it. And that’s really the extent of my thought process.”
She continued: “A big challenge, for me, was sort of taking myself out of my own life and out of my own thought process in regard to that, and kind of figuring out what [fame] was for Emily.
“One thing this show has never failed to do is really challenge my way of thinking. Her poetry does that alone.”
Is there a trailer for Dickinson season 3?
As season two hasn’t finished airing yet it’s a little premature for a trailer for the third outing.
However, one is likely to drop closer to the premiere of the show and Express.co.uk will update this article when more information is available.
