Coronation Street star Rachel Leskovac has seemingly confirmed the return of Natasha Blakeman on the soap following her character’s decision to move from the cobbled street to the Big Smoke.
This Christmas, Natasha – who made a comeback on Corrie in September after a 10-year absence – announced that she and her son Sam (Jude Riordan) were moving to London.
This revelation had a huge impact on Sam’s father Nick Tilsley (Ben Price), whose partner Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) tried to persuade him to rent a flat that Sam could move into so Nick could get to know his son better.
While Natasha’s move to London as Sam stays with his father may have left viewers questioning whether she was leaving the programme for good, there has now been a hint that this isn’t the case.
On Saturday, Rachel – who originally played Natasha from 2008 to 2010 before reprising the role this year – tweeted that she recently video-chatted with her on-screen son, who left her in ‘stitches’.
‘Video call with @JudeRiordan the other day and he had me in stitches,’ she wrote.
‘So much love for that young man – absolutely gorgeous and very funny too. Can’t wait to start filming again with you soon.’
Rachel, 44, then tagged Coronation Street’s official Twitter account, before concluding her tweet with the hashtag ‘#littlelegend’ to describe nine-year-old Jude.
Corrie isn’t the first hit TV show Jude has starred in, having previously been featured on The Secret Life of 5 Year Olds on Channel 4.
Jude’s mother said in an interview conducted earlier this year that the youngster was ‘over the moon’ to be cast in the ITV soap, having been told he’d been chosen for the part over summer.
‘Jude was over the moon. He loves to act and feels very comfortable on set and in that environment,’ his mother, Kellie, told St Helens Star.
‘We are incredibly proud of his achievements, he’s only 9 and seems to have found his love.’
