Chantelle Houghton reveals pal thought she was pregnant after she put on two stone in lockdown

CHANTELLE Houghton has revealed she was forced to deny being pregnant after a pal thought she was expecting – but she had actually put on two stone during lockdown.

The Celebrity Big Brother star said she wasn’t bothered by the mistake because the weight gain is down to her being in a happy relationship.

Chantelle said over lockdown her weight has crept up to 13 stone and she now wears a size 14 or 16 on the bottom and an 18 on top.

The 36-year-old confessed she’s less bothered about what she's eating because she is happy.

She said: “When you’re in a happy relationship too, you don’t worry about what you’re eating and you do gain weight.”

Chantelle laughed about the mix up in an interview with Closer magazine.

The mum-of-one said: “Last week I went to the hairdressers and the receptionist looked at me and said, ‘Oh Chantelle, congratulations!’ I giggled and said, ‘Don’t be embarrassed, but I’ve just put on a lot of weight!’

"My tummy has always been my problem area; people have been coming up to me for years and asking, ‘When is it due?’ I’ve got used to it now.”

Before Chantelle got together with her fiancé Michael Strutt, she kept to a strict plant-based diet – since her romance has flourished, the diet has gone out the window.

Chantelle's beau popped the question back in April, with the television personality calling him the "love of my life".

The Celebrity Big Brother winner – who appeared on the programme's Best Shows Ever series recently – said yes to Michael Strutt's proposal after a whirlwind romance.

The shock announcement came just weeks after Chantelle revealed she still thinks about having kids with her ex-husband Preston and admitted there is still something between them.

Chantelle found fame when she was chosen as the "fake celebrity" to be planted in CBB in 2006.

It was there she met the Ordinary Boys singer Preston who she married seven months after appearing on the show, with the pair divorcing the following year.

The ex-couple went on to appear on the Ultimate Big Brother together in 2010, with Chantelle, 36, finding it painful to be around him.

However, ten years on and the former couple are now good friends.

Chantelle shares a seven-year-old daughter Dolly with Katie Price's ex-husband Alex Reid.
