Channel 4 eye up new Trash Monsters show where celebs wear the contents of their BINS for a week

CHANNEL Four bosses are eyeing up their barmiest TV show to date – Trash Monsters.

The series will see a handful of celebrities charged with wearing their household rubbish and recycling for a week in a bid to make them more mindful about their lifestyles.

Insiders working on the show, which is being casted now, said it aims to try and raise awareness about how much society still throws away.

Filming is set to start on the series later this summer.

A show insider said: “Celebrities and their agents are being approached about Trash Monsters now.

“You’d think people would be running for the hills but surprisingly a number of stars are up for wearing the rubbish suit.

“The aim of the show is to highlight just how much waste some households can go through.

“Every year millions of tonnes of rubbish is thrown out and they want the celebs to take a long hard look at what they go through in a week.

“It’ll be counting everything, from old teabags to Amazon parcels.

“The celebs will be made to wear a special suit which will have their rubbish and recycling inside it.

“They’ll have to wear the suit at home, and while out and about, to gauge reactions.

“It’s a totally barmy idea but Channel 4 seem to really like it and the stars being approached have been told it will air with them.

“Filming is scheduled to start this summer with a view to having it broadcast in the autumn, all being well.”

Every year around 30 million tonnes of household waste is generated in the UK.

Of that figure, it’s reported that 5.9m tonnes of this is just packaging alone.
