In scenes that aired on Wednesday’s A Place in the Sun, property expert Scarlett Douglas was in Cyprus to help couple Taz and Tracy to find their perfect holiday home. Taz, whose family are originally from Cyprus, explained to Scarlett that he wanted to move out there with his wife permanently. The couple, who had a budget of £60,000, wanted to find a one-bedroom property that had an amazing view, with a pool and a balcony. Taz also pointed out they wanted to be close to amenities and a beach.
It didn’t take long for Scarlett to find the couple their dream home as they were instantly blown away at the first property viewing.
Before they had even stepped foot into the apartment, which was located in Protaras, Tracy said it was “it’s beautiful”.
Scarlett told them it was a “one bed apartment, with great outdoor space” and was listed at £70,000.
As Scarlett began to show the pair around the apartment, Tracy got a tad overwhelmed and broke down.
“We will go outside for a better look, but what do you think about in here?” Scarlett asked.
Taz replied: “It’s perfect, we can make this work.”
Turning to Tracy, Scarlett continued: “What feeling are you getting overall would you say, Tracy?
“Aw, you’re getting emotional? What is it what are you thinking?”
As she cried tears of joy, she explained: “I’ve been looking for two years and this is what we’ve been looking for.”
It just feels fantastic,” Tracy added.
“I guess this has been a long time coming for both of you, right?” the property expert added.
Taz replied: “We’ve looked for a long time to find the dream place. Yes, we are picky but you walk in and think ‘that view’, it’s just a killer.”
As Scarlett proceeded to show the couple outside, Taz went on to add: “I’m lost for words.”

Despite loving the first property Scarlett continued with the search and up next she showed them a home in a quieter village.
Their initial reaction wasn’t great when Scarlett told them it was four miles to the beach, which they deemed as “too far”.
They were however impressed with the pool, although Tracy was concerned with the lack of privacy they would have.
They felt the home, which was priced at £60,000, was very small as Taz commented: “There’s not enough room for a bed.”
After seeing the third property, Scarlett failed to wow Taz and Tracy once again and they ruled it out completely.
Tracy said that she hated the view and wouldn’t want to wake up to it.
They loved the fourth property, although, it still didn’t match their high expectations from the first property.
Scarlett then threw a spanner into the works when she took them to the fifth and final property – a penthouse apartment.
However, it came to the crunch, Taz and Tracy decided to put in an offer for £55,000 on the first property, which was initially rejected.
They then went in with an offer of £58,000 and it got accepted.
A Place in the Sun airs weekdays at 3pm on Channel 4.
