Wetherspoons names 15 pubs its selling as it prepares to reopen this weekend – see the full list

WETHERSPOONS has confirmed that the 15 pubs already up for sale will stay on the market when the chain reopens on Saturday.

The branches went up for sale in April last year but now the pub chain has confirmed that they will stay on the market.

The chains says that the branches will open again as normal this weekend and continue to trade until a buyer is found.

The sale affects 14 Wetherspoons branches and one of the chain's Lloyds bars.

A second Lloyds bar was up for grabs too but it sold earlier this year.

The pubs up for sale include the Alexander Bain pub in Wick, Scotland to the Queens Hotel in Newport, Wales to the Isaac Merritt in Paignton, Devon.

  • Brun Lea, Burnley, Lancashire (Lloyds)
  • Vulcan, Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire
  • Time Piece, Dewsbury, West Yorkshire
  • Bourtree, Hawick, Scottish Borders
  • Last Plantagenet, Leicester, East Midlands
  • Queens Hotel, Newport, Wales
  • Isaac Merritt, Paignton, Devon
  • The Cross Keys, Peebles, Scottish Borders
  • St George's Hall, Redfield, Bristol
  • Pennsylvanian, Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire
  • Rhinoceros, Rotherham, South Yorkshire
  • Butler's Bell, Stafford, Staffordshire
  • Friar Penketh, Warrington, Cheshire
  • Dee Hotel, West Kirkby, Merseyside
  • Alexander Bain, Wick, Caithness

While the pubs are up for sale they're still open for orders as normal but they will be pulled from the Wetherspoon brand if and when they're sold.

Wetherspoons is planning to reopen 875 out of the nearly 900 'Spoons branches in the UK on Saturday as lockdown measures are eased.

Punters will be able to order a pint for the first time since March when doors open at 8am.

The pub chain has invested £11million into making sure staff and customers stay safe when branches are open.
