The truth about Darius Rucker’s new girlfriend

Country crooner, Darius Rucker, surprised many fans when, in July 2020, he announced his split with his wife of more than 20 years, Beth Leonard. Rucker took to Instagram to deliver the sad news, writing, “Beth and I would like to share that after much reflection we have made the decision to consciously uncouple.” The Hootie & the Blowfish frontman added, “We remain close friends and parenting partners and continue to be each other’s biggest cheerleaders. Our priority will always be our beautiful family.” The former couple share two teenage children, Daniella and Jack.

Now that the split is behind him, it appears Rucker has wasted zero time diving back into the dating pool. As reported by Page Six, Rucker is supposedly getting romantic with a comedian named Kate Quigley, who happens to be 16 years his junior.

So what is there to know about the latest woman to sweep Rucker off his feet? Keep reading after the jump to find out!

Kate Quigley has an impressive resume

Kate Quigley (pictured above), the reported girlfriend to country music superstar, Darius Rucker, isn’t just any ol’ comedian. She’s a GOOD comedian! Like really good. Cue the infamous Elle Woods line, “What like it’s hard?” Um yes, actually, performing stand up live comedy in front of an audience of breathing humans is hard.

Per Quigley’s official website, Quigley has hosted the 2016 AVN awards and, perhaps, is most known for her time on Playboy TV starring in Undercover. Other credits of Quigley’s include The OfficeThe Josh Wolf ShowThe Danny Comden ProjectThe Megan Mullally Show, and Talkshow with Spike Feresten. But that’s not all — She also hosts her very own podcast show titled, #DateFails, which reportedly gets a whopping 30K downloads a week! Whew. This girl is busy!

Although it’s unknown when the romance started, fans got tipped off when Quigley took to Instagram to show off a picture of Quigley. The shot showed the cozy pair posing next to comedian Bronston Jones, and Quigley gushed in the caption, “Can’t tell you how much I love these two.” She also casually dropped the term “boyfriend” in a Sept. 28, 2020, tweet, as she teased Rucker about his choice in football teams. “My boyfriend is a dolphins fan. Now I get why he likes me so much. He has a thing for lost causes,” she posted.

Congrats to the new couple!
