Former “Very Cavallari” alum Shannon Ford, who was fired by Kristin Cavallari on the now-defunct reality show, is opening up about hanging out with Jay Cutler amid his divorce and an off-camera feud with her former boss.
“People don’t realize this, I was with my mom and my grandma,” the reality star revealed on Dear Media’s “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast on Tuesday. “That video didn’t show my mom and my grandma were there. That’s how not spicy it was.”
In November, Cutler, 37, shocked “Very Cavallari” fans when he posted a video on Instagram out to lunch with Ford, 27, in Charleston after Cavallari, 34, had called the ex-Uncommon James employee “unprofessional” and “disrespectful” on camera.
However, Ford told “Not Skinny But Not Fat” host Amanda Hirsch that she initially wanted to meet up with talent agent Mark Block at a bar, and hadn’t realized Cutler was also there.
The former reality star said she was hesitant to meet up because she thought, “Oh no, Jay hates me,” but when Block told her Cutler didn’t mind her joining, she showed up.
Ford said she “doesn’t know the reasons” for why Cutler posted a video of them, but shared that he appeared to not be an avid social media user.
“[The video] was on his [Instagram] Story and he goes, ‘I’m confused. Where do I type the caption?’” Ford claims Cutler told her. “That’s how removed he is from social media.”
She added, “I didn’t post it. I didn’t look thirsty. When I got there, I put my phone very far away because I thought they might think like, ‘Oh Shannon will love this. She’ll love nothing more than attention and I wanted to be like, the cool girl that genuinely was enjoying a drink with her friend and Jay.’”
Ford shared that she thinks the former NFL star posted it to “be funny.”
Ford also shared that she has not kept in touch with Cavallari after being fired from her reality show, but claims the former “Laguna Beach” star once tried to stop her from pursuing brand deals after she left the show.
“[Cavallari] sent me a message that was like, ‘You can’t do a brand deal for … ‘ and she listed, like, eight things I couldn’t do, and I was very bothered by that because I was, like, ‘Let a bitch get her f–king bag,” Ford said. “Like, you are a millionaire dating another quadruple millionaire. I am a 23-year-old girl trying to pay rent.”
The now-influencer, who boasts more than 300,000 followers on Instagram, added, “Don’t tell me I can’t do an ad for something after you just took my lifeline away by, like, kicking me off the show and firing me. Don’t do that.”
Ford said Cavallari allegedly claimed the brand deals were a “direct violation” of their non-compete agreement, and threatened to take legal action.
Ford said she responded, “Here’s my lawyer’s number, you’re welcome to talk to them in regards to that matter,” to which she claims Cavallari wrote back, ‘Hahaha lol k.’
A rep for Cavallari did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.
