Melanie Griffith’s not a regular mom, she’s a cool mom.
The “Working Girl” actress’ daughter, Dakota Johnson, revealed during a recent interview on “The Late Late Show With James Corden” that when she wanted to get a body piercing as a teenager, her mom not only agreed, but also joined in on the fun.
“She took me to get my belly button pierced when I was 14, and she also got her belly button pierced. I don’t know why I am telling you this,” Johnson, 31, told the TV host, adding, “My mom took me to get my first tattoo.”
That design — which reads “Acta Non Verba,” a Latin phrase that translates to “actions not words” — was a favorite phrase of the star’s father, Don Johnson. The “Fifty Shades of Grey” actress specifically chose it to placate him, as “he said that if I ever got a tattoo he would disown me,” she explained.
It’s one of a total of “11 or 12” tattoos Johnson’s amassed over the years, which range from a trio of flying birds to an infinity symbol she got inked with her boyfriend, Coldplay singer Chris Martin.
