Lidl certainly know how to make Christmas look sensational thanks to the return of their melting chocolate cottage.

The chocolate treat looks impressive enough on its own as a table centrepiece, but if you're really hoping to wow your guests who don't like traditional Christmas cake, then the Dark Chocolate and Salted Caramel Cottage will end your dinner with a bang.

The £6.99 confection makes for the perfect Instagram moment as the chocolate sauce that it comes with is poured into the chimney and it begins to melt and ooze sweet goodness.

And if you're really looking to really amp up the sweet tooth Lidl have also released two festive ice cream flavours to accompany your dessert – Deluxe mince pie and Deluxe gingerbread tubs.

Available in-store now the bargain supermarket relaunched the popular treat so that shoppers can celebrate the festive season in style.

It was a hit with chocoholics a last year featuring in many Instagram posts as the ultimate upgrade on the traditional gingerbread house.

The indulgent chocolate creation comes with chocolate sauce which can be poured into the chimney to blend with lavish layers of Belgian white chocolate mousse, as well as salted caramel sauce, white chocolate snowballs and a chocolate cookie base inside.

Lidl has also delighted shoppers by bringing back its hugely popular Deluxe festive ice creams. At just £1.99 per 480ml tub, these decadent desserts are the perfect treat to tempt taste buds in the run up to Christmas.

Available in two festive flavours mince pie and gingerbread, the festive dairy ice creams are not to be missed with the gingerbread tub swirled with ginger cookie pieces.

Shoppers who love the taste of mince pies will definitely want to try the Deluxe Mince Pie Dairy Ice Cream. With rich swirls of mincemeat sauce and mincemeat, it's a game changing take on the Christmas classic. What’s more, the Gingerbread Dairy Ice Cream is swirled with gingerbread sauce ginger cookie pieces.

And the supermarket hasn't stopped there with its Christmas shopping list adding on sandwiches to its festive line-up.

To really get you in there's a three course festive feast featuring a pack of three sandwiches, a prawn mayo as a starter, turkey feast as a main and finishing with a cheese board for dessert.
