Levi’s Vintage Clothing Reimagines Iconic Happy Mondays Artwork for SS21

Paying homage to the artwork of the Manchester Sound era of the late 1980s, Levi’s Vintage Clothing has linked up with Central Station Design — the studio behind many of the album covers synonymous with the era — for a unique Spring/Summer 2021 collection.

Boasting a line-up of T-shirts, hoodies and outerwear, the collaboration reimagines artwork from a handful of iconic Happy Mondays records, like Squirrel and G‑Man Twenty Four Hour Party People Plastic Face Carnt Smile, the band’s first full-length album.

An oversized zip parka — dubbed the Freaky Parka — features a multicolour repeat pattern, while a hoodie with a blue and green block effect pays homage to Central Station’s artwork for the band’s first ever 12” single, Forty-Five EP.

To accompany the release that drops on March 5, Levi’s sat down with Happy Mondays frontman Shaun Ryder for a chat about Central Station and how the artwork supported the band, which can be viewed below.

The Levi’s Vintage Clothing x Central Design Station Design collection launches on March 5 via the Levi’s webstore.
