LOVE Island is back on our screens – with many Brits getting comfy in time for the 9pm show.
If you're used to being tucked up in bed by then, you could be struggling with tiredness due to having pushed your snooze back.
Sleep expert Hayley Thistleton said lots of people have been forced to push their bedtimes back an hour in order to fit in the communal watching of the antics in the villa.
However, she warned that this could come at a cost.
She explained: "Sleep is an essential function that allows your body and mind to recharge.
"When you don’t get enough sleep, it can impair your cognitive ability and increase your risk of conditions such as high blood pressure, heart disease, and poor mental health.

"Less sleep will of course also lead to poor productivity the next day and there is really no telling how long the impact of Love Island could be.
"As the show airs for 8 weeks, consistent sleep loss for this time period could see effects lasting well into the autumn.”
Hayley, who is working with SleepSeeker added that while you might think you can just catch up on sleep at weekends – this could leave you feeling lethargic.
The guru said that good snooze relies on consistency – which is something many people don't get whilst watching the show.

"Another solution could be a mid-afternoon nap, but unfortunately, this will almost certainly zap any chances of productivity too.
"You may just have to accept that your sleep will be affected whilst watching Love Island and make sure you give your body the time it needs to recharge and recover from all of the drama.
“The key is to give your mind and eyes the necessary break needed before going to sleep.
"The drama and excitement of these types of shows could keep your mind active and disrupt your sleep, so it is important to have a little bit of time to relax and unwind before going to bed.”
If you find you are struggling, Hayley said there are somethings that you can do to make sure your slumber isn't completely ruined.
The first thing, she said, is to make sure you give yourself time to unwind and relax after the show.
Some of the scenes can be quite dramatic, with viewers being at the edge of their seats – meaning you have an elevated heart rate and need to bring it back down.
The sleep expert says that 20/30 minutes should be enough time between the show and sleep for you to chill.
Try reading a book or some breathing exercises to help you wind down, she suggested.
Another hack, Hayley said, is to adjust your sleep pattern.
"If you don’t want long-lasting effects you should consider adjusting your sleep schedule to satisfy your Love Island cravings!
"Sticking to a consistent bedtime, and therefore maintaining a regular sleep-wake cycle, is the most important factor for good sleep."

We live in an age where everything is available on demand, and if you're really struggling, Hayley said you should just watch the show the next day.
"Whilst it may be difficult not to join in live and to avoid spoilers, if you find your sleep is taking a hit because of Love Island you should consider watching it the next day at an earlier time."
