Three years after last heading Down Under,I’m A Celebrity.. Get Me Out Of Here! is back in Australia as a new group of celebrities battle it out to be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle.

Among those famous faces is Gogglebox star and stand-up comedian Babatunde Aleshewho was the seventh participant to touch down at Brisbane Airport.

After landing in Oz, the 36 year old toldThe Mirror that he was there “to have a good time” though admitted that he wasn’t entirely on board with the idea of camping.

So as Babtunde prepares to spend 24/7 in front of the cameras in the I’m A Celeb jungle, here’s what you need to know about the TV personality…

Away from the spotlight, Babatunde is a self-confessed “family man” and is married to his wife Leonie, with the pair saying “I do” back in September 2015. Together, the couple are parents to a son called Judah.

According to her Instagram, Leonie is a “Travel Business Coach” and regularly shares snaps from incredible holidays and staycations.

On-screen, TV fans may know Babatunde from his acting roles in shows including Law & Order, Doctor Who and EastEnders where he played Tanya Jessop’s nurse back in 2011.

Elsewhere, the I’m A Celeb star is also a stand-up comedian, having supported Mo Gilligan on his 2021 national tour and is set to begin a new tour of the country at the beginning of next year.

Having previously won Best Newcomer at the Black Entertainment Comedy Awards, Babatunde is also known for appearances on game shows such as Richard Osman’s House of Games and The Weakest Link.

In 2020, the comedian made is debut appearance on Celebrity Gogglebox alongside Mo Gilligan and the pair have remained firm favourites on the show ever since.

As he kick starts his new adventure on I’m A Celeb, Babatundawill be joined by campmates including Mike Tindall, Matt Hancock and Olivia Attwood.

Speaking ahead of his shock appearance in the jungle, former Health Secretary Matt Hancock has stated thathe will use his time on the show to promote his upcoming dyslexia campaign.

In a piece forThe Sun, the MP for West Sussex wrote: “It's our job as politicians to go to where the people are – not to sit in ivory towers in Westminster.”

He also explained that he wanted to use the opportunity to show “the human side of politicians” away from the world of Westminster.

“ I was elected by the people, and it's important to engage with voters, especially younger voters, no matter where they are, and show the human side of politicians,” he added.
