How Elizabeth Hurley's gowns all have matching bikinis

Now that’s what you call a two-piece! From the ballroom to the beach… how Elizabeth Hurley’s gowns all have matching bikinis

  • Liz Hurley, now at the helm of bikini empire, is never knowingly under-glammed
  • This week she wore a yellow Versace dress with sheer panels followed by bikini
  • Her wardrobe of show-stopping frocks and stunning swimwear is extensive

Now 56 years old and at the helm of a bikini empire, actress Liz Hurley is never knowingly under-glammed.

Forever with perfect hair and make-up, she seems to waft around the garden of her country house wearing either a ravishing evening dress or a bikini, with little ground in between.

This week she wore a gorgeous yellow Versace dress with sheer panels, followed by a buttercup string bikini.

Her wardrobe of show-stopping frocks and stunning swimwear is so extensive, she can easily twin her outfits according to whatever colour of the rainbow happens to take her fancy.

Indeed, on closer inspection, it looks very much as if some of her brightest bikini ideas have been inspired by her favourite designer looks.

All business in a regal purple sheath dress for an appearance on Lorraine in 2016, plugging her show The Royals.

This year she posted a picture of herself in an Elizabeth Hurley Beach Charlotte top and Carla bikini bottoms in the same shade — they are on offer, reduced, at £37.50 each.

Liz wore a big smile and an even bigger split in 1999 at the premiere of the film Mickey Blue Eyes, starring boyfriend Hugh Grant.

They split the following year.

Looks like she borrowed the crystal details and aqua shade for this £168 aqua bikini at Elizabeth Hurley Beach.

Liz rose to fame in 1994 after accompanying Hugh Grant to the premiere of Four Weddings And A Funeral in a Versace number fastened with gold safety pins, which came to be known as ‘THAT dress’.

It seems she has a THAT bikini too — the Jessica, £168 from her own label.

In a blue bikini, the £150 Olivia from her own label, in 2018.

Maybe she was inspired by this one-shouldered dress, which she wore in 2013 to watch Sir Elton John receive a Brits Icon award.

Sir Elton’s pal Rod Stewart cheekily described him that night as ‘the second-best rock singer ever’.

Asked to present the Best Supporting Actor award at the 1995 Baftas, Liz stole the show in a hot pink Galliano dress — hopping down the stairs and leaving the audience in no doubt she was bra-less.

Host Billy Connolly spluttered: ‘That should be an Olympic event: jiggling.’

Hot pink was again in favour two years ago in this £150 bikini from her collection.

The actress turned 56 last Thursday. On Sunday this week she shared a picture of herself in a vintage Versace dress under the caption ‘about last night’.

Pal Donatella Versace wrote: ‘WOW! Gorgeous, vintage Versace. You look beautiful.’

On Monday Liz was plugging her £144 Sunshine bikini with a video of herself and a friend dancing to the Spice Girls hit Who Do You Think You Are.

She wrote: ‘Who doesn’t dance to the Spice Girls on a sunny birthday weekend in Blighty?’ Who indeed.

One-shouldered dress, with sequined belt, in 2018 (left) and the previous year she wore a pink bikini with ruffle details from her own brand

Liz always wears pink to Lauder’s breast cancer research foundation events, and here she is in a one-shouldered dress, with sequined belt, in 2018.

The previous year she wore a pink bikini with ruffle details from her own brand.

It is now discontinued.

Scintillating even in beige, she opted for this gown at a 2018 event for the Elton John Aids Foundation.

She again wore a bit of buff in the form of a bikini on a ‘pretend vacation’ in January this year.

The one in question is the Honey, in Toffee, £150.

Valentino Garavani is one of La Hurley’s best pals in fashion — and he says she is one of his favourite celebs to dress.

She wore this white Valentino column to an event in Rome in 2013.

Her own-label bikini is a £155 Marissa, and she posted this snap on Instagram in February.
