Ellen DeGeneres' wife Portia de Rossi is reportedly “doing well” after being rushed to hospital on Friday evening.
The actress is recovering after she required emergency surgery for appendicitis.
According to her representative, Portia, 48, was "rushed" to hospital but is now recovering and at home with Ellen and is “doing well”.
A source spoke to People and said: "Ellen rushed Portia to the hospital on Friday night, she was in a lot of pain."
They continued: ”It was appendicitis and she had surgery.”
The source also confirmed that Portia is now resting and Ellen is currently taking care of her, despite the couple being initially scared.
They said: "It was a scare at first, but all good.”
Appendicitis occurs when there is a painful inflammation of the appendix. Those who suffer from appendicitis usually need surgery to remove the appendix as soon as possible to ensure the appendix does not burst.
Ellen has been undergoing an immense about of pressure herself within the last few months.
The talk show host contracted Covid-19 in December 2020 and took to Twitter to inform her fans of the news.
Ellen said: “Hi Everyone, I want to let you all know that I test positive for Covid-19. Fortunately, I’m feeling fine right now. Anyone who has been in close contact with me has been notified, and I am following all proper CDC guidelines.
“I’ll see you all again after the holidays. Please stay healthy and safe. Love, Ellen.”
Ellen also faced accusations last year regarding her conduct with former colleagues on her show as the staff spoke out about the star’s treatment and the alleged “toxic” work environment.
Speaking openly to People in February regarding the situation, Ellen made it clear that her wife had been her “rock” and supported her through the situation.
Ellen said: "It broke my heart; I couldn't have gone through everything I went through without her.
"It was a horrible time in my life, and she was a rock. She kept me going and tried to help me put things in perspective.”
Portia also spoke about how her relationship with Ellen has strengthened throughout the pandemic.
The actress previously said: "We've grown together as a couple, and we really consider each other and put our relationship first.”
She added: “I can't imagine spending time with anyone but her."
