Zara Tindall has a “very close relationship” with her cousin Prince William.
The cousin’s bond will be explored in an upcoming documentary, Zara & Mike: No Nonsense Royals, which airs at 9pm on Saturday 1 May on Channel 5.
The 39 year old cousin of the Duke of Cambridge, 38, has a good relationship with the future king.
Zara, who recently gave birth to her and husband Mike Tindall’s third child, is even godmother to Prince William’s eldest child Prince George, seven.
In an exclusive teaser clip for the Channel 5 doc, a royal expert said: “Although Zara’s not working royal, she is still a senior member, really, of the Royal Family.
“And her relationship with the future king, William, is very close and that closeness was really signified when William made Zara a godmother to Prince George.”
While royal commentator Jennie Bond added: “It’s a very close relationship. They’re very close in age. They’ve got an awful lot in common. The’ve got the same Granny, so she’s very close to her cousins.”
The rest of the documentary will give an insight into how Zara, who is the eldest granddaughter of the Queen, manages to balance a somewhat “normal life” away from the limelight with her relationships with her Royal Family.
Zara, is married to former English rugby union player Mike Tindall and shares three children Mia, seven, Lena, two, and Lucas, who changed the line of succession to the throne when he was born earlier this year.
The documentary release comes following reports that Zara and Mike, 42, reportedly played peacemakers between brothers Prince William and Prince Harry amid their rift.
It was reported the brothers set their differences aside to sign off the statue they commissioned of their late mother Princess Diana, which is set to be unveiled later this year.
A source close to sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley told The Sun: “It will have been signed off by William and Harry, that much I do know.

“I know he did work closely with the boys and I think it will be incredible.
“We’re lucky to have him as an artist in the UK.”
But, it’s recently been claimed that Harry’s attendance to the statue’s unveiling is under “serious doubt”.
Phil Dampier, author of Royally Suited: Harry and Meghan In Their Own Words, told the publication: “There must now be a serious doubt as to whether Harry will come over for the unveiling of a statue for Princess Diana on what would have been her 60th birthday in July.”
