Adele’s apologies have been ringing hollow to some British fans, especially after shelling out thousands of pounds on flights, hotel rooms and concert tickets, which traded for up to $32,000 ahead of the shock cancellation announcement. To add insult to injury, one fan was ordered by her not to use a free drink token she had just offered to her.

The shamed singer personally video-called a pair of devastated fans in a bid to repair the messy situation, when the awkward conversation happened.

Her intention had been to offer every ticket-holder a free gift bag from her Vegas store, which also offered a host of personalised items for a further price.

“Get your free bag,” she told the pair, before hastily adding: “You’re not old enough to drink are you so you can’t have that free drink token.”

“You’re too young.”

She ordered another fan not to make a purchase from her store, stating: “You’ve already spent enough f***ing money.”

However, in a DM to another follower, she seemed happy to tout the merchandise, some of which costs more than the original price per ticket fans paid.

“James it’s Adele! I really am so sorry,” she wrote in one message.

“If you’re still here at 6pm, my store in the middle of the Caesars casino just outside the entrance to The Colosseum is opening up still.

“It’s not just a shop! There are fun and nostalgic things from my career in there, nods to moments of the last decade and all sorts of things to look at and so on.

“There will be people I work with in there to chat about what everything is and a gift from me to you also!

“I hope you can make it! Again I’m so sorry.”

Yet some sweatshirts were priced at a whopping $110.

Meanwhile bottles of her favourite Cloudy Bar Pinot Noir wine had been priced up from its usual $40 to $75.

Some saw this as extortionate and questioned whether Adele was truly trying to make amends or simply attempting to earn yet more money from now cash-strapped fans with the consolation price of an “over-priced merchandise” store.

However Adele insisted that she was “truly humbled” by the support of fans, including the pair who had been too young to take up the offer of a free drink.

“I designed that score myself, I bled and f**king sweated and cried into it,” she told them.

“So just have fun to all the fans and I’m really sorry and it’s really nice to meet you both.”

Adele has vowed to reschedule all of the 24 dates, although an already tightly-packed schedule means the Easy On Me singer may not be able to arrange anything until 2023.

There had already been concerns that she might never play again after a scare with damaged vocal chords back in 2017, so followers had been especially keen to catch her while they still could.

Meanwhile, Adele has claimed of the string of cancelled shows: “I’m letting myself be sad.”
