Susanna Reid and Good Morning Britain co-host Ben Shephard have paid tribute to The Wanted star Tom Parker after it was announced he sadly passed away on Wednesday 30 March.
The pair spoke about several moments when the I'm Glad You Came hitmaker made an appearance on the show, with the last one being less than four months ago for a Christmas special with the band.
"I'm sure all of you have heard the news, the very very sad news, of Tom Parker from The Wanted who sadly died from his battle with a brain tumour," Ben, 47, started. "It was one of those moment I think we were all desperately hoping wasn't going to happen. That the battle he was taking on the treatment he was having was going to work.
"We were lucky enough to spend time with him just before Christmas. He and the boys came in and they performed for us at the Christmas show and he was typically full of joy and fun…"
Susanna, 51, then cut in and said: "So much fun – he just kept smiling through and look we've been lucky enough to talk to him a couple of times on this programme. In September last year he spoke to Charlotte [Hawkins] about his condition and what he was able to share with his family."
Tom had told the GMB host: "The kids don't really know what's wrong with daddy.
"But when I was really ill, like under chemo and radiation, I couldn't really get out of bed and stuff. They were tough days. The kids instinctively knew, they just stayed away. But when I felt a bit better, they were there."
Susanna then said: "We are so sad about Tom, tragically young, 33. Incredibly cruel what has happened to him.
"We send our love to the band, the team around him and especially Kelsey and the children."

Tom passed away on 30 March, leaving behind his wife Kelsey, 32, and their two children: Aurelia, two, and Bodhi, one.
Kelsey, who shared a beautiful love story with Tom as it was "love at first sight" between them, took to her Instagram to announce the news as she wrote: "It is with the heaviest of hearts that we confirm Tom passed away peacefully earlier today with all of his family by his side.
"Our hearts are broken, Tom was the centre of our world and we can’t imagine life without his infectious smile and energetic presence.
"We are truly thankful for the outpouring of love and support and ask that we all unite to ensure Tom’s light continues to shine for his beautiful children.
"Thank you to everyone who has supported in his care throughout, he fought until the very end. I’m forever proud of you."
