Strictly: Zara McDermott performs first dance of the series
Zara McDermott has given her boyfriend of four years Sam Thompson a telling-off for correcting her footwork while watching her training sessions behind the scenes.
However, the Strictly Come Dancing star was in for an embarrassing moment after her pro dance partner Graziano then claimed her boyfriend was giving the right advice.
Talking on his Hits Radio show on Monday, Made in Chelsea star Sam, 33, exclaimed: “Dance is a very passionate thing.
“When Zara gets a foot wrong, [Graziano] is like ‘NO, other foot, other foot’ and then I start becoming a back seat dancer telling Zara, ‘Come on, listen to him and put your feet together, love!’”
“She’s like, ‘Sam, don’t. If you’re going to come and watch this don’t start getting involved,’ but Graziano is like, ‘No, he’s right!’”

Sam also disclosed the routine that the pair have been training intensively to perfect – a Paso Doble to Puss and Boots for Movie Week, with Zara apparently playing the role of “Puss’ wife”.
He teasingly referred to “fake swords” that Zara and Graziano had been “swinging around” as they prepare to wow audiences with a performance of a lifetime.
Despite declaring that Zara had been a “terrible dancer”, he has since insisted that she has an “amazing quickstep”.
She demonstrated the moves during last weekend’s show in time to George Ezra’s ‘Anyone for You (Tiger Lily)’.

Sam was forced to watch at home after Zara gave her allocation of two guest tickets to her grandparents – but it came as no surprise to him, having already predicted he’d lose out to her family for some shows.
Her proud beau explained on a previous episode of his Hits Radio show that he’d “wait outside” if he had to, so he could ensure he’d be there to cheer her on.
More recently, he explained: “The whole family have tickets for different weeks, so I’m going to have to somehow shoehorn my way in.
“I might have to sneak in through the back door! I’m really, really excited for her.”
He also joked that his own grandparents are equally excited as they are huge Strictly fans, chuckling: “They want to adopt her.
“My grandma’s like, ‘I can’t believe it!’ They’ll all be fighting over tickets to get into the audience, I’ll probably have to give up my space to them!”
Meanwhile, an emotional Zara – who said she’d been looking forward to donning glamorous costumes in front of the nation each week – was in tears after it was announced she and Graziano had avoided a place in the dreaded bottom two.
Instead, the first celebrity contestant to face elimination was Les Dennis, who lost out to dance-off rival Nikita Kanda after the judges ruled she’d made more progress between weeks one and two.
