Rylan Clark, 33, was keen to debut his brand new teeth while fronting Friday’s instalment of Strictly Come Dancing spin-off show It Takes Two. However, the big reveal didn’t come without some struggles for the presenter, whose new veneers had only just been fitted.
Proving that beauty is pain, Rylan admitted to Strictly contestants Tom Fletcher, 36, and Amy Dowden, 31, that his mouth was still feeling swollen.
He also explained that smiling on the BBC show wasn’t helping his symptoms.
It comes after Rylan took to Instagram on Wednesday to tease the results of his dental work, while candidly displaying some swelling, which was a side effect of the procedure.
Rylan got onto the subject when Tom detailed the issues he was having with his and Amy’s routine this week.
Tom said: “I think all through the week, all of my notes from Amy were to smile, that was the hardest bit, it was harder than any of the steps.
“Because you were concentrating so much on your frame and the placement of your feet and everything.
“Just smiling is actually really hard,” father-of-three Tom explained to Rylan.
Joking about his own predicament with his grin, Rylan quipped: “Well, it is at the minute, yeah I tell ya!
“Still swollen, it’s still swollen!”
Fortunately, McFly star Tom was quick to reassure the presenter that his teeth were looking good.
“They look great,” Tom replied as he and Amy chuckled at Rylan’s remark.
Rylan previously informed fans that he was undergoing the procedure earlier this week.

He told his Twitter followers he would be getting new teeth after eight years of sporting his old veneers with a comical post.
Rylan tweeted: “After 8 years.
“It hurts, so much, but sometimes you just have to let go.
“I’ve taken the decision to say goodbye… to my teeth [laughing emoji] new smile imminent [smiling emoji].”
Rylan has often joked about his famous gnashers after getting his teeth done before his first major TV gig after The X Factor.
He told Notebook in 2017: “I got my veneers finished the day before I started hosting Big Brother’s Bit On The Side, my first presenting job.
“My mouth was swollen from the anaesthetic, they were brilliant-white, brand new.
“That was the first night everyone saw them , and all people did was take the p**s out of my teeth.
“So no one realised I was a s*** presenter, and by the time they stopped talking about my teeth a few months later, I’d got better at the job.”
