Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps might be making a welcome return to TV as Sheridan Smith has said she "definitely wouldn't rule out" a reunion.
The comedy series was a huge hit for the BBC when the initial nine series ran from 2001 to 2011, and now that the sitcom is about to celebrate its 20th anniversary, a new episode could be heading our way if the cast's diaries allow for it.
Sheridan, who starred as Janet in the show, told Metro of getting the cast back together: "I mean that would be brilliant, Gavin and Stacey did their special which I thought was brilliant. We might end up getting the Two Pints gang back together, I certainly wouldn’t rule that out one day if everyone’s schedules worked out."
After the sitcom ended, Sheridan became an even bigger star thanks to roles in shows such as Cilla, Mrs Biggs, The C-Word and Gavin and Stacey, but says it's still Two Pints that she remembers fondly.
She said: "It was a great part of my life. And I guess most people have their university years where they go away and do that but our Two Pints days were like the university years.
"We all got really close – we were in it for nine years so it was a big part of my life. Definitely don’t rule out that there would be a reunion one day, although it would be weird because we are all so much older."
The cast also included Ralf Little, Natalie Casey, Will Mellor and Kathryn Drysdale. Ralf is currently starring in Death in Paradise, while Will features in Coronation Street.
Sheridan, 39, gave birth to her first child Billy in May 2020 and has been enjoying life as a mum to her baby son with fiance Jamie Horn, but said that she thought her Two Pints character Janet might have a few more kids in her brood.
Talking about what she thought the gang might be up to in any new episodes, she said she thinks Janet would "probably have about 20 kids or something", but that she'd still be spending most of her time at the pub.
