Phillip Schofield shares hilarious photo of messy hair as he admits wild look ‘made his mum jump’

Phillip Schofield tickled his fans as he shared a hilarious photo of himself looking unkempt on his Instagram page.

The 58 year old This Morning presenter showed things are far from glamorous for him outside the set of the ITV daytime show as he posted the honest snap to his story.

Phillip’s photo is a screenshot of him on his Apple Mac computer after a Skype video call with his mum, Pat.

The snap shows Phillip wearing a blue t-shirt, and his cheeky expression reflects his amusement at his hair, which is strikingly different to how This Morning fans are used to seeing it on TV.

His silver fox locks are standing on their ends in different directions, giving a true bed head look.

As he shared the photo on his Instagram story, Phillip revealed his messy hairdo gave his mum quite the shock during their video call.

He wrote above the image: “Skype’d my mum, my hair made her jump”.

Later, on Snapchat, Phillip, who was recently pictured arriving at the London flat he is staying at after moving out of family home, admitted he isn’t a fan of the messy look.

As he shared a close up photo of the unkempt do, he placed a cartoon pair of scissors, revealing his desperation for a haircut.

Phillip then revealed how fed up he was getting of his hair as he wrote above the picture: “This is getting ridiculous”.

A trip to the hairdressers isn’t the only thing Phillip has had to sacrifice, like everyone across the UK, amid the lockdown.

As Phillip was forced to spend his 58th birthday celebrations in lockdown, with a Zoom birthday party with friends and a cake without candles on This Morning, earlier this month.

The This Morning star, who recently shared a photo of himself drinking from a giant gin bottle, was joined by Declan Donnelly, Leigh Francis, Emma Bunton, Christine Bleakley, Davina McCall, Holly and her husband Dan Baldwin for the virtual birthday party.

At the beginning of an episode of This Morning on Phillip’s birthday, Holly said: “First on the agenda… Happy Birthday Phil. Obviously the shops are shut so we're limited with what we can get you, but I do think you have the best birthday cake ever.

“You can't have candles on it because you can't blow them out.”

Phil replied: “Thanks very much. It's a weird birthday, I'm lacking in hugs.

“I had a zoom party with my mates and that was really lovely, so thank you.”
