Something truly wild happened in Las Vegas on Tuesday night (well, like, more wild than usual): Olivia Wilde was served legal documents on behalf of her ex Jason Sudeikis. Like, right in the middle of a CinemaCon presentation.
According to Deadline, Olivia was interrupted while on stage by an “unidentified person” who “approached from the front rows and slid a manila envelope across the front of the stage toward her.” People reports that she asked “this for me?” and said it seemed “very mysterious” and that she was “going to open it now because it feels like it’s a script.” She then opened the envelope and looked at its contents, before saying “Okay, got it. Thank you” and continuing on with her presentation.
Deadline was initially told that the documents were an unsolicited script, and then later confirmed that they were custody papers. This is obviously WILD, but a source close to Jason tells People “Papers were drawn up to establish jurisdiction relating to the children of Ms. Wilde and Mr. Sudeikis. Mr. Sudeikis had no prior knowledge of the time or place that the envelope would have been delivered as this would solely be up to the process service company involved and he would never condone her being served in such an inappropriate manner.”
Meanwhile CinamaCon is low-key spiraling over its security, with Managing Director Mitch Neuhauser saying in a statement to Deadline,“We have never in the history of the convention had an incident where a delegate has approached the stage who was not authorized to be there. In light of this incident, we are reevaluating our security procedures to ensure the safety of all our attendees.”
