Haim Drop Guns N’ Roses-Inspired ‘Feel The Thunder’

Haim have dropped “Feel The Thunder,” a song inspired by Guns N’ Roses, from the upcoming soundtrack for the animated children’s film The Croods: A New Age.

Haim wrote “Fell The Thunder” as a theme song for the Thunder Sisters in the movie, which opens on November 25.

The song, co-written and produced by Ariel Rechshaid, features a drum intro, the “huh” grunt, snarling vocals and the gradual move to an explosive chorus, all hallmarks of Guns N’ Roses.

“[Ariel] is obsessed with them,” Danielle Haim told Rolling Stone. “He went and saw them on their most recent tour a bunch of times. And so I figured that that’s what we were looking for. We were like, ‘Let’s get Ariel.’ But I’d never tried to make music like that before, so it was fully like a crazy experiment.”

“We literally set up a small sound system in the recording studio,” Este Haim said. “We mic’d all the drums and had it pumping through a small speaker system, which we’d never done before. But I guess that’s how all those records got made.”

The film’s composer Mark Mothersbaugh called the sisters “very talented ladies who are very fun to work with.”
