EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Paint it red? Georgia May Jagger is saddled with £160,000 debts after making loss in her skincare range

The daughter of Rolling Stones singer Sir Mick has forged a successful career from showing off her figure as a model, but her company’s financial figures are less flattering

Georgia May Jagger can’t get no satisfaction from her fashion and beauty business.

The daughter of Rolling Stones singer Sir Mick has forged a successful career from showing off her figure as a model, but her company’s financial figures are less flattering.

I hear the oddly named business she set up to develop a skincare range, Catfish Soup, made a loss of £68,000 last year, on top of £42,000 in 2018, as its reserves plunged to £160,000 in the red.

Georgia May had to pile in her own money, with a note on the accounts explaining it ‘has been able to meet its working capital requirements with the support of the director [who] is satisfied she can continue to support the company in this manner until the development of the products is completed’.

A special home delivery for Ella

Popular food blogger ‘Deliciously Ella’ Mills has served up some cheering news during this ghastly crisis

Popular food blogger ‘Deliciously Ella’ Mills has served up some cheering news during this ghastly crisis.

The daughter of former Labour minister Shaun Woodward and supermarket heiress Camilla Sainsbury gave birth ‘after a quick labour’ in the early hours on Thursday at the West London home she shares with her former financier husband, Matthew Mills.

Revealing that they’ve named their daughter May, she says: ‘We’re over the moon and totally in love.’

She and Matthew, the son of late Cabinet minister Dame Tessa Jowell and lawyer David Mills, also have a one-year-old daughter, Skye.

She’s one of the most in-demand violinists around the world, but Nicola Benedetti tells me: ‘I am vowing to stay in the UK all the next year.’

The classical star, 33, supported this week’s ‘Let Music Live’ rally in Parliament Square, which urged the Government to help save Britain’s freelance music industry during the crisis.

‘It is my choice to turn down dozens of concert opportunities abroad,’ Benedetti adds.

‘I feel it is important I stay in my home country and lend my voice to speak out on behalf of our freelancers in music and orchestras.’

Long before lockdown, celebrated interior decorator Nicky Haslam liked nothing better than giving a party, but it had to be perfect in every way — the right venue, excellent food and drink, and the final vital quality, a successful mix of guests.

In an updated edition of Stately Secrets, a book by Richard Bridgeman, Earl of Bradford, he recalls that at one extravagant Christmas bash Haslam held, the guests included flamboyant Russian ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev and Raine, Countess Spencer, Princess Diana’s stepmother.

One of Haslam’s friends approached him with the suggestion that he introduce the pair, which generated the immediate and unforgettable response: ‘No need — Rudolf the Red knows Raine, dear.’

The Countess of Carnarvon is giving a Churchillian two fingers to Covid by going ahead with a history festival this weekend at Highclere Castle in Hampshire, where Downton Abbey was filmed.

‘There’s only so much you can do on Zoom,’ Fiona Carnarvon tells me, referring to the video platform that’s become ubiquitous during the crisis. ‘It will be so nice to see people and someone’s face for real.’

The event will pay homage to the challenges faced by families during World War II, complete with veterans, planes and a Winston Churchill lookalike.

Julia reveals Latin passion

Hollywood star Julia Stiles, who plays a super-rich art curator in hit Sky Atlantic drama Riviera, has been captivated by the tango.

The actress, 39, was required to learn the sensual Argentine dance for the third series, which is broadcast from next Thursday, and became hooked.

‘I got to take up tango lessons for weeks privately in Buenos Aires,’ she says at a series launch event. ‘It was a dream. It was so fun and now I’m obsessed.’

Next stop, Strictly Come Dancing, Julia?

(Very) mild manners

Trying to quit cigarettes during a pandemic is no laughing matter for comedienne Jo Brand.

‘I’ve got certain inexplicable rules that allow me to smoke at certain times,’ she says. ‘I’m allowed to smoke when I’m in another country, and I’m allowed to smoke if I’m doing a theatre job.’

With playhouses shuttered and foreign travel fraught, that’s a big problem. ‘I smoked when I did panto last year, but I didn’t let myself have more than three a day,’ Brand adds. ‘But, oh, my goodness it was wonderful.’

Supermodel Elle’s suave son Flynn

Having inherited striking looks from his supermodel mother Elle ‘The Body’ Macpherson — and a potent cocktail of charm and ambition from his hedge fund tycoon father Arpad ‘Arki’ Busson — Flynn Busson is swiftly becoming society’s most eligible bachelor.

Just like his dad, whose exes include Uma Thurman and Dame Kristin Scott Thomas, Flynn’s proving a hit with the ladies — and one in particular, fashionista Avery Domi.

Raised in his parents’ £2 million house in West London until their split in 2005, Flynn confirmed his new romance this week by sharing a picture with pals of him and Avery in the Bahamas for her 22nd birthday.

An alumnus of £20,835-a-year Latymer Upper School, Flynn now works in finance in Miami since graduating from university in Boston earlier this year.

Flynn, also 22, spends his free time skiing in St Moritz, flying planes, playing polo in Buenos Aires and partying in Mykonos.

Avery, whose father is former Canadian ice hockey player Tahir ‘Tie’ Domi, has won approval from Elle, who commented on the picture: ‘Happy birthday beauty.’
