Pop singer Dua Lipa has released a retro-inspired music video for the fourth single from her latest album, Future Nostalgia.
Titled “Break My Heart,” the song was co-produced by Monsters & Strangerz and Wattrevolves, and features a theme of allowing yourself to be open to receiving love again despite having loved and lost “a hundred million times” in the past.
“I should’ve stayed at home, ’cause now there ain’t no letting you go / Am I falling in love with the one that could break my heart?” Lipa sings in the chorus of the song while dancing to the rhythm alongside a band of women at a discotheque.
The 24-year-old rising star took to Instagram to thank her crew for “holding my hand through the worst flu of my life” during the filming of the video in London in 8-degree weather; “We pulled through and made something we really hope you’ll love!!” she wrote, alongside a short clip from the video.
Future Nostalgia is the follow-up to the singer’s self-titled debut album that was released in June of 2018.
“I have never felt more myself in making this album and I’m grateful to some incredible people that held my hand through it – allowed me to believe, gave me confidence to dig deeper and create something fun, cohesive and reminiscent of my childhood influences,” she wrote in a lengthy post on Twitter.
The album was released on Friday, March 27, and is now available for purchasing and streaming.
Lipa moved up the release of the album, which was originally scheduled to drop on April 3, after the record reportedly leaked online.
