Jack P Shepherd has revealed he's battling an eating disorder after a cruel troll told him he "needs a good feed".
The 33 year old, who recently gave a behind the scenes tour of the Coronation Street set, took to his Twitter feed to speak out about the issue after receiving a nasty message from one of his 429,300 followers.
"Wise up….he.looks like someone who could do with a good feed," [sic] the troll wrote on the social media platform.
The Corrie star, who plays David Platt on the ITV show, replied to the troll: "I have an eating disorder. Thank you for being nice".

He did not offer any further details on his eating disorder, but pinned the tweet to the top of his page so everyone could read his statement.
Fans were quick to praise him for standing up for himself and being honest as one person said: "Good on you for speaking out. I do too and you've inspired me to say it out loud."
"Well done on speaking out , however you shouldn’t have to explain yourself. Ppl to quick to judge to fat / to thin etc x," [sic] another concerned fans said.

While a third added: "Good for you. Shame on them. You’re the funniest best character in Coronation St. Thought you should know that".
Jack has never been one to shy away from speaking out about his struggles as last September he revealed he underwent a second hair transplant after his hair loss left him feeling depressed.
He has a particularly aggressive form of male pattern baldness, which is why his second operation was needed so quickly after the first one.

He explained: “I have been through all sorts of traumas on-screen in Corrie but going bald away from the cameras really hit me for six.
“I have been suffering from quite rapid hair loss similar to Wayne Rooney and I knew that the only way I was going to get it sorted was with another operation.
“I really hope that this will fix the problem for good because, as an actor, it is vital that I keep hold of my hair.”

Jack later opened up on the trolling he has become victim to on social media. “People pick over your appearance on social media every day and some of those comments really hurt,” Jack explained.
He continued: “I had always been self-conscious about my hair because I am losing it right at the front of the scalp where it is most visible.”
