Emmerdale actress Charley Webb spoke about life away from the ITV soap opera on social media yesterday, revealing she often found being at home with her three kids “hard”. The TV star, who shares sons – Buster, 10, Bowie, four, and Ace, one, with her husband and co-star Mathew Wolfenden, admitted she has been struggling to sleep recently as her mind is “constantly active”.

The mum-of-three, who took time off work following the birth of her youngest son, has not yet returned to the popular television show.

Throughout the coronavirus pandemic Charley home-schooled her eldest children with a baby in tow, and also started her own business.

The 32-year-old has previously spoken candidly about the dad-to-day difficulties of motherhood and this week she gave an update.

Talking directly to her 471,000 followers via her Instagram Story, she said being at home was often harder than being at work.

Charley said: “I’ve always talked about the fact that I found the jump from two to three children huge. Like massive.

“I’ve always been honest about it. I don’t think enough of us are honest when it comes to the way we feel when we have kids.”

She went on to say: “Just being at home, I’ve been off work now for nearly 18 months, and you’d think that being at home would be easier but actually juggling the house, the children, their school, clubs, opening our own business, it’s been hard.”

The tired mum went on to say that all her family commitments had become “overwhelming” at times and was starting to affect her sleep.

“I’ve alway been a really good sleeper and now because my mind is constantly active I’m struggling to sleep,” the soap star said.

Her video caption revealed that her quality of sleep was “shocking” so she wanted to do something about it.

“I’m trying the starter pack from @cbii_cbd because juggling three children and everything else has been overwhelming at times,” she wrote online.

“My sleep quality has been shocking and I really need 8/9 hours every night.”
