Chadwick Boseman’s wife Taylor Simone Ledward has given a moving acceptance speech while accepting the late Black Panther star’s award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama at the Golden Globes 2021.

The actor posthumously won the gong for his role in George C Wolfe’s Netflix film Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.

Appearing via video link at the ceremony, Chadwick’s widow said: “He would thank God. He would thank his parents.

“He would thank his ancestors for their guidance and their sacrifices.

“He would say something beautiful. Something inspiring.

“Something that would amplify that little voice inside of all of us that tells you you can, that tells you to keep going, that calls you back to what you were meant to be doing.”

Ledward could then be seen fighting back tears as she continued her emotional speech following the actor’s death.

She added: “I don’t have his words but we have to take all the moments to celebrate all we love, so thank you, HFPA, for this opportunity to do exactly that.”

She then addressed her late husband, saying: “And honey, you keep ’em coming. Thank you.”
