Alicia Keys shared a new single, “Good Job,” the latest off her upcoming seventh album, Alicia, last Thursday.
Alicia wrote the song last year with her husband Swizz Beatz, The-Dream and Avery Chambliss, as a tribute to the unsung heroes in her life. The song has gained newfound relevance amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
“Whether you’re on the frontlines at the hospitals, balancing work, family and homeschool teaching, delivering mail, packages, or food, or facing other personal difficulties because of COVID-19, I feel you,” Keys said in the press release. “You are seen, loved and deeply appreciated.”
“Good job/ You’re doin’ a good job, a good job/ You’re doin’ a good job/ Don’t get too down/ The world needs you now/ Know that you matter, matter, matter, yeah,” Keys croons in the track’s chorus.
Alicia was originally scheduled to be released on March 20 but got postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. “Show Me Love,” “Underdog,” and “Time Machine” are among the other songs on the album.
The singer released her memoir, More Myself: A Journey in March.
