ROA's Daiquiri Mid Stumbles Into a Vat of Rubber

ROA is known for making some of the most practical hiking trail sneakers and shoes around, so to dip its Daiquiri Mid in black liquid rubber is an unexpected move from the brand.

However, the final product is nothing short of a technical avant-garde success. The combination of white technical mesh fabrication and a black rubber-dipped Vibram sole unit, met in the middle with a mesh in-sock, adjustable toggle laces, and more makes for a stellar winter-ready pair.

The Daiquiri Mid’s clear rubber coating drips from the midsole, creating little droplets that mimic icicles. While this is perhaps not the most practical design element to have hanging from the bottom of your shoes, the sneaker is still functional. Its Vibram sole unit is hardwearing and well-cushioned, while rubber panels on the lower-quarter of the upper have been added for extra support, especially at the toe and heel.

Take a look at the ROA Daiquiri Mid in the gallery above, and pick up a pair of these for yourself from LN-CC now, where the sneaker retails for $550 USD.
